Any review of today's news reveals that we face an uncertain future. The business
world is rapidly changing, driven by technological advancements moving at a dizzying pace.
This change is resulting in:
- corporate downsizing and layoffs
- financial insecurity
- depleted savings
- inadequate personal retirement
In fact, studies have shown that if you take a sample of 100 people, and project their
financial position at age 65, just one will be wealthy and independent. Four will have
enough to retire and "get by", 20 will have some savings or retirement, and 75
will be dead, or just dead broke. Which of these categories will you fall into?
And where are you today? Are you, like many people, participating in the
"40-40-40" plan, working for 40 hours a week for 40 years at a job you don't
much like, with people you wouldn't otherwise associate with, and a boss you wouldn't
choose if you had a choice --just to end up retiring at 40% of what you were living on
before retirement?
It has been said that "most people live lives of quiet desperation." Does this
sound too much like you? Which path are you on? |
